Contract Details
The work involved the dismantling of two old portakabin type buildings in the
main car park of the hospital and the construction of a purposely designed
building to provide care to improve the quality of life of patients who have a
serious or life-threatening disease.
Site Difficulties
The site was positioned in the far corner of the hospital main car park, our
compound took over fifteen car park spaces to which the hospital could not
afford to lose, because of the location of the site all deliveries had to be
carefully guided through the car park in order not to hit any other vehicle in
the car park, during the excavation process, banksmen were positioned in
strategic places along the route from the site to the main road in order to keep
the disruption of the flow of traffic travelling through the car park to a
minimum.

The two-storey unit
includes therapy and counselling rooms and a library and was
funded by the National Lottery, the Rotary Club and an appeal
fund.
