The work involved the construction of a new Clock Tower and associated works.
Site Difficulties
The site was located in the middle of a busy shopping area in the town centre with busy roads running along side. Due to the tight areas that we had to work in the bulk of materials used for this works were stored off site with our local suppliers and delivered to site when required. As there were high specification and expensive materials used in this works the decision was made to contact the local police station and ask if they could monitor the site out of hours with the CCTV cameras which overlooked the site to prevent and theft of materials or damage on the site. The site was also located over the main electrical supply for the town. This meant that careful excavation of the site was required due to the high voltage cables running through the excavation areas.
