Contract Details
The works involved in this project were the construction of a new assembly hall
for the school, new staff room and classrooms. The works also included all new
services to these areas and the partial refurbishment of the existing school
building. The works were split into three phases with the hall and internal
works being completed over the summer break period and phase two the reception
and junior class rooms being completed by Easter break and the third phase of
the kitchen and circulation areas being completed during this time period.
Site Difficulties
The site was within the existing Primary School and adjacent to the main
entrance to the school, deliveries had to be timed not to coincide with the
pupils arriving and leaving the school, due to the location of the site and
nature of the building extra care was needed to ensure the site was secure at
all times and securely fenced off so that the pupils could not enter the site.
